SketchCars is an official Private-Hire Operator Licensed by Transport for London. The Private Hire Vehicles (London) act was introduced in 1998 and  provides for the licensing and regulation of private hire operators, drivers and vehicles in London.

The Government delegated the task of  licensing London's private hire trade to Transport for London. Tfl now control the licensing of both Taxi and Private Hire transport in London merging The Public Carriage Office operation into Tfl in 2010.

The purpose of licensing regulation is to give passengers confidence, when they use a licensed private hire operator, that they are dealing with an honest, professional organisation with reliable drivers and safe vehicles.
